In 1970, Aaron Entebi founded Industrias Tebi, a sock factory in the historic center of Mexico City. Coming from a family with experience in the Mexican textile industry, Aaron had the ambition to start his own business in the world of weaving. Initially, his plan was to produce sweaters, but the four machines he received for this task turned out to be unusable. He decided to exchange them for sock knitting machines, and from that moment, the ascent of the small family company towards a leading sock manufacturing company in Mexico began.
The history of Industrias Tebi was not without challenges. In 1985, a devastating earthquake in Mexico City destroyed the factory building. The factory reopened its doors in a new three-story building with the machines they managed to salvage, but the two years of inactivity caused the loss of many customers. It was then that Alfonso Entebi, Aaron's son, joined the company in 1989. Alfonso got involved in different areas of the business, identified areas of opportunity, and eventually took over the company's management to continue the family legacy.
Throughout the years, the company has faced tough times, such as the economic crisis of 1996 and the 2020 pandemic, but it has managed to overcome them thanks to its resilience, commitment, and teamwork. Today, Industrias Tebi has over 200 knitting machines and 400 employees, leading the Mexican sock market. The company is known for its customer service and quality products. The incorporation of after-sales services, investment in technology, and continuous improvement have been crucial in the growth and positioning of Industrias Tebi as a market leader.
